Bryan Gardner was the son of Frederick George and Georgina Gardner.
He was educated at Portsmouth Grammar School and matriculated in 1943. He came up in the Michaelmas Term 1943 as a Cadet at HMS Ganges.
He died of tuberculosis at home in Bathampton on 31 March 1944. He is buried in the churchyard of St. Nicholas, Bathampton, south of the tower.
He is commemorated on the Memorial Roll at Portsmouth Grammar School for those Old Portmuthians.
