He was born in 1889, the eldest son of Peter James Duff Hawker of Longparish and Isabel Flora Augusta Tippings who were married in 1882. His father died in 1896 aged 44.
The Hawkers owned Longparish House for several generations and PTR was called for a famous forbear.
He was educated at Eton. He came up to Christ Church in 1908, going down in 1910, It appears that he did not take a degree.
In 1914 he married at St. George’s, Hanover Square, Louisa Rosa Vuillemin Higgs. [Parentage not found]
In WWI he was a Lieutenant in the RNVR and served in France, and in North and South Russia.
He died at Victoria Hospital, Cork on 29 January 1933. On the Probate record his address is given as Lower Reenmeen, Glengarrif, County Cork. His estate in England amounted to £6030-1-2.
He is mentioned several times in the Diary of Admiral Sir George King-Hall

Here at the end of the year, I am as far from having a resting place, as ever, which is a pity for Olga and the childrens’ sake. Christmas Day was spent by all of us at Longparish House, Longparish near Whitechurch, an old Elizabethan house, standing very low, the Test flowing about 100 yards from it.
Mrs Tippinge rents it from her Grandson Ryves Hawker, who is at Eton. A nice boy. Olga and Lou stayed there a week. I could only get away for Christmas and Boxing Day. [The Tippings had rented it for many years re the Census]
