Cathedral to Support Asylum Welcome as 2025 Christmas Charity
We are delighted to announce that the proceeds of collections at this year’s special services for Christmas and Epiphany will support the work of Asylum Welcome.
Asylum Welcome are a local charity providing information, advice and practical support to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants living in Oxfordshire. Their work includes responding to urgent hardship by providing items such as food, toiletries and winter clothing; helping asylum seekers and refugees to access healthcare and legal services; and ensuring refugees in Oxfordshire have a safe place to stay. They seek to help adults, young people and families to feel safe, respected and understood as members of our diverse local community.
The collections will take place at our services of Nine Lessons and Carols from 21-24 of December, the Solemn Eucharist of Christmas Night on the evening of 24 December; at our Christmas Day services; and at our service of music and readings for Epiphany on 17 January. You do not need to give any money to attend these services, but your generosity could make a difference this winter.
