Frideswide Voices to tour Cornwall and Isles of Scilly this July
Frideswide Voices will head to the southwest from 21 - 27 July for seven performances in Cornwall and the Scilly Isles.
Under the leadership of our Associate Choral Director, Alexander Turner, the choir will give concerts in Falmouth and Tresco. They will also sing for worship in Truro Cathedral; St Michael’s, Newquay; and St Mary’s in the Scilly Isles.
The musical programme for the tour features several works by Benjamin Britten in honour of the 50th anniversary of the composer's death in 1976, including his Missa Brevis and excerpts from Friday Afternoons. The girl choristers are joined by the Clerks of Christ Church for the mainland portion of the tour, while their trip over the Celtic Sea to the islands gives them the opportunity to showcase repertoire for upper voices.
