Qualifications

BSc in Physics (Leeds); PhD in Engineering (Cambridge)

Undergraduate teaching

I was a supervisor/tutor of engineering undergraduates at the University of Cambridge for three years. I have taught first-year Mathematics and Computing and third-year Photonic Systems.

Research interests

My research interests lie in the development of the underlying quantum technologies that compose the foundation of the quantum internet, to a state of practical importance. In Oxford my work is focused on high-speed, high-fidelity entangling gates in ion traps while during my Ph.D. I was working on the development of novel systems for long distance quantum communications. I am quite interested in the merging of the two technologies for the development of quantum computing secure networks.
