BSc (Kent); PhD (London)

Academic background

I hold a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Kent at Canterbury and a PhD investigating signal transduction mechanisms form the University of London. I completed postdoctoral research in Cardiology at King's College London and went on to hold a British Heart Foundation (BHF) Intermediate Fellowship from the UCL Institute of Child Health. I currently hold the BHF Senior Fellowship (Ian Fleming Fellowship) from the University of Oxford. 

Undergraduate teaching

I teach  Pre-Clinical Medicine. 

Research interests

My research focuses on embryonic mechanisms of cardiovascular development to understand the basis of congenital heart defects and to inform approaches for vascular protection and cardiac regeneration.
