Education and Pilgrimage Officer
Christ Church now invites applications from suitably experienced candidates to join the Cathedral team as an Education and Pilgrimage Officer.
This role is designed for someone who has proven experience in delivering and developing educational and/or pilgrimage resources across a range of ages. The role might be an opportunity for a qualified and experienced teacher who has already held responsibility in a school for RE, Spirituality, SIAMS (The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) or Collective Worship, or someone who has been part of the Senior Management team of a school who would relish a different sort of challenge. Equally it might suit someone who comes from a Children, Young People, Families and School work background in a church who is looking to diversify and move in a more educational direction.
The principal focus of the role will be to collaborate with the Priest Vicar for Education and Pilgrimage in delivering current provision in both fields, as well as supporting the development of vision and strategy for the Cathedral’s educational and pilgrimage offer for the Cathedral congregation, schools, the whole Diocese, and visitors and pilgrims from around the UK and the world. The post-holder will be resilient, flexible, enthusiastic and energetic: a self-starter and an able teacher and group communicator with excellent written communication skills. They must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a wide range of people including clergy, staff, visitors and volunteers, as well as with members of the congregation.
