Our Choirs

Music is an integral part of worship at Christ Church, where there has always been a great tradition of musical excellence.

Normally we publish a monthly list of forthcoming services and the music that will be sung. However, because of the pandemic the choir is not able to sing in its usual formation. Our services usually include organ music, but sadly no singing. Do check www.chch.ox.ac.uk/onlineworship for details of the alternatives we are currently offering.

During school term time the renowned Christ Church Cathedral Choir sing most of the Cathedral services. During University Term, the College Choir sing at Evensong on alternate Mondays. From September 2019, our new girls’ choir, Frideswide Voices, will be singing throughout the school year, mainly on Wednesdays, and usually with the adults of the Cathedral choir. At other times the voluntary choir, the Cathedral Singers, provide music at services, and during August and occasionally at other times, we are pleased to welcome visiting choirs

Many concerts are also held in the Cathedral, both by professional musicians and choirs and by the Christ Church Music Society.
