Christ Church DPhil candidate Holly Haines has become the first Oxford student to win both the George Humphrey Prize and the Oldfield Prize – each awarded for her outstanding work as part of the MSc in Psychological Research.

For the first time in more than a century, a new stained glass window has been constructed and installed in Christ Church Cathedral. The vibrant statement window was designed by celebrated artist John Reyntiens MBE and produced in London by the world-renowned Reyntiens Glass Studio.

Team led by Niko Munz rediscovers major 17th-century artwork

A Royal Collection Trust research project led by art historian Dr Niko Munz, Junior Research Fellow at Christ Church, has resulted in the rediscovery of a major 17th-century artwork. The formerly 'lost' painting, Susanna and the Elders, has now been reattributed to Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi (1593–1653).

Last month the Christ Church Picture Gallery unveiled its latest exhibition: "Wish you were here!" The attraction of Christ Church in early photographic postcards, 1 July 2023 – 30 October 2023. The collection’s more than 70 postcards focus on Christ Church, with many mailed between 1899 and 1955.

The inaugural International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) kicked off last month in Beijing, launched with the mission of promoting and celebrating groundbreaking research in fundamental science and applied mathematics. Among the research celebrated this year was that of Yuji Nakatsukasa, member of Christ Church and Associate Professor in the Oxford University Mathematical Institute.

Christ Church is delighted to have lent the red galero, said to have belonged to Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (1473-1550) to ‘Wolsey's Ipswich’ at The Hold in Ipswich. The exhibition runs until the end of October 2023 and explores Wolsey’s legacy, re-connecting him with his hometown and examining his position on the world stage.
