Education and Pilgrimage Officer

University Grade 7 £38,674 – £46,913 per annum (with a discretionary range to £51,059)

Permanent

37.5 hours per week, (the possibility of 0.8FTE might be negotiable in certain circumstances) starting January in 2026.

Summary

Christ Church now invites applications from suitably experienced candidates to join the Cathedral team as an Education and Pilgrimage Officer. 

This role is designed for someone who has proven experience in delivering and developing educational and/or pilgrimage resources across a range of ages. The principal focus of the role will be to collaborate with the Priest Vicar for Education and Pilgrimage in delivering current provision in both fields, as well as supporting the development of vision and strategy for the Cathedral’s educational and pilgrimage offer for the Cathedral congregation, schools, the whole Diocese, and visitors and pilgrims from around the UK and the world.

Chef de Partie

University Grade 4 (currently £27,838 to £33,137 per annum) depending on experience

Permanent, 40 hours per week

Summary

Christ Church is looking to appoint an experienced full time Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of all sections of the kitchen and be responsible for preparing excellent quality meals using fresh sustainable ingredients for routine daily catering and fine dining events.

Health and Safety Compliance Officer (Part Time)

University Grade 6 – currently £17,724 to £20,699 per annum (pro-rated) depending on experience

Permanent, 19 hours per week

Development & Alumni Events Officer

University Scale Grade 5 currently £31,459 – £36,616 (including Oxford University weighting)

Christ Church is seeking to appoint a Development & Alumni Events Officer to contribute to strengthening the alumni relations strategy at Christ Church through thoughtful planning and efficient delivery of events. 

The Development and Alumni Events Officer plays a vital role in supporting Christ Church’s commitment to fostering lifelong connections with its Old Members. This position is responsible for delivering a diverse event programme including Gaudies, academic lectures, and regional gatherings which encourage alumni and donors to remain connected with the House.

Bar and Cellar Assistant

£13.16 per hour

Permanent, 10 hours per week

Christ Church are recruiting a Bar and Cellar Assistant who is a reliable, friendly and experienced individual to join their Buttery and Undercroft team.

Stipendiary Lecturership in Computer Science (six weighted hours, four year fixed-term contract)

£16,569 - £18,308 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience

Fixed-Term (1 October 2025 to 30 September 2029)

Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Computer Science. This is a temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil the current teaching need arising from Professor Gal's teaching buyout from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2029. 

The successful candidate will deliver five weighted hours of teaching per week, averaged over the three eight-week terms of each academic year. There is an additional one weighted hour for organisation and support.

Stipendiary Lecturership in Computer Science (six weighted hours, two year fixed-term contract)

£16,569 - £18,308 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience

Fixed-Term (1 October 2025 to 30 September 2027)

Summary

Christ Church invites applications for a two year fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in theoretical Computer Science. This is a temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil the college teaching need in expectation of a new Tutorial Fellow in Computer Science being appointed for the 2027 to 2028 academic year. Therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.

The successful candidate will deliver six weighted hours of teaching per week, averaged over the three eight-week terms of each academic year.

Stipendiary Lecturership in Physical Chemistry

£8,284 - £9,154 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience

One-year fixed term, until 30 September 2026

Summary

Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Physical Chemistry. 

Christ Church currently admits seven students per year to read Chemistry. The person appointed will share in the teaching of Chemistry with College Tutors and other College lecturers as appropriate. The successful candidate will deliver three hours of tutorial teaching per week, averaged over the three eight-week terms of each academic year.
