Associate Choral Director

University Scale Grade 6: £35,681 - £41,636 (with a discretionary range to £45,212) (pro rata)

Christ Church seeks to appoint an Associate Choral Director from 1 January 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to support the Organist in the provision of choral music of the highest quality at Christ Church, with particular responsibility for the day-to-day running of Frideswide Voices. 

Director of the Cathedral Singers

£16,501.56 per annum

Permanent, part-time (0.4 FTE)

Christ Church seeks to appoint a Director of the Cathedral Singers from 1 February 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to lead the Cathedral Singers as their musical director and principal conductor. The post-holder will contribute to the management of the choir and lead it in its range of performance activities. 

Sous Chef

Christ Church is recruiting up to three postgraduate students for casual roles at Oxford Edge to support front-of-house operations, event logistics, and student engagement.

Volunteer and Visitor Assistant

University Scale Grade 4: £28,437 - £32,108 per annum (with a discretionary range to £35,681 per annum)

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Summary

Christ Church invites applications from suitably experienced candidates to join the Cathedral team as a Volunteer and Visitor Assistant. 

The Volunteer & Visitor Assistant is responsible for assisting the Volunteer & Visitor Coordinator in the management of the volunteers across the Cathedral and the management of visitors to the Cathedral. 

Junior Research Fellowships 2026/27 (Sciences)

Millard and Lee Alexander Post-doctoral Fellowship 2026/27

The fellowship is offered on a non-stipendiary basis: the Fellow is not an employee of Christ Church, and the Fellowship does not constitute an employment.

The initial period of the Fellowship is for one year, but it may be renewed for up to one further year while the departmental appointment continues.

Summary

Applications are invited for the Millard and Lee Alexander Fellowship, in Mathematics or one of the Physical Sciences, for the academic year 2026-2027.

The fellowship is intended to give College affiliation to a post-doctoral research worker from outside Oxford; applicants must have carried out their doctoral research at a university other than Oxford and have no existing affiliation to an Oxford college.
