Stipendiary Clerk (alto and tenor)
Christ Church is seeking to appoint talented musicians with experience of singing to a professional standard in a significant ecclesiastical setting to join the Cathedral as a Stipendiary Clerk. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a well-developed singing voice of appropriate range and quality, together with a high level of technical proficiency and excellent musicianship, particularly in sight-reading.
The role of Stipendiary Clerk is ideally suited to an early-career singer seeking to broaden their experience and develop their skills working alongside the permanent music staff in one of the country’s leading choral foundations. The role is often combined with a portfolio of other singing work. The Stipendiary Clerks sing for the Cathedral's statutory and special services, undertake the necessary advance preparation for rehearsals and performances, and participate in the non-performing activities of the Choir and wider Foundation.
