Graduate Masterclass with Dr Georgianna Ziegler: Re-creating a Renaissance Life
Please note this Masterclass is for a Postgraduate audience only
Georgianna Ziegler served as Head of Reference at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC, but she also curated exhibitions, gave public tours, worked with secondary and university teachers, organized conferences, and taught English literature.
Dr. Ziegler’s talk will be based on her experiences writing the first monographic life of the Franco-Scottish calligrapher, writer, and artist, Esther Inglis. Her talk will explore finding a topic in early modern studies, then the intricacies of doing research, and the logistics of tracing down primary and secondary materials, writing it up into a book, and seeing it through the press. Along the way Dr. Ziegler will say some things about her varied career background, leveraging her degrees in teaching and in early English and French literature. Questions and discussion will be welcome!
Note, there is no step-free access to Christ Church Upper Library
