All tickets to visit Christ Church must be booked in advance online.

You can book a maximum of 11 tickets per order. If you would like to bring more than 11 people to Christ Church please contact our Groups Coordinator who will be able to provide you with the latest information regarding group visits.

Tickets will be released on a weekly basis as follows:

Please note that we normally close to visitors at 17.00 so if you are purchasing a ticket for 15.45 you will have a maximum of 1 hour 15 mins to spend on site.

What's included in the Multimedia Guide Tour?

Your ticket includes access to the main Christ Church site, with the opportunity to see one of the largest colleges of the University of Oxford, and the Cathedral of Oxford. Every ticket also comes with a multimedia guide. The Picture Gallery is not included in your multimedia guide ticket but a separate ticket can be booked online for a small addition charge. Please note the Picture Gallery is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Please note that Christ Church is a working institution, and the Hall or Cathedral may be closed at the time of your visit. Known closures will be clearly indicated against the relevant timeslots on the booking system. Please select your timeslot carefully. We normally close at 17.00. If you book the 15.45 entry time please note you will be required to exit by 17.00. If you would like to visit for longer please book an earlier timeslot.

There is no charge for children under 5 years but a ticket must be booked online to ensure we do not exceed our capacity.

Children must be accompanied by an adult (18+).

Carer Ticket

The necessary companion, or carer, of a disabled visitor may book a free carer ticket online. The normal admission fee applies to the disabled visitor.

Groups

Our priority remains protecting the health and safety of our visitors and all members of the Christ Church community. We continue to have a number of safety measures in place for visiting Christ Church and are pleased to be able to welcome back a small number of groups on a trial basis. Please note we are currently only accepting booking enquiries for group visits between December 2021 and March 2022. If you would like to book more than 11 tickets for a visit during this time please read our 'Groups' section on the website for full details and information on how to submit a booking request.

University of Oxford Alumni Card Holders

Free entry for Oxford University Alumni card holders during visitor opening hours. At this stage we have had to suspend free entry for guests while we carefully manage the number of people on site. A multimedia guide ticket will need to be purchased for any guests.

Oxford Residents (OX1-4)

Parishioner Pass

Member of the Church of England who live in the Diocese of Oxford (Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes) are welcome to come to their Cathedral to pray whenever they wish. Parishoners may apply for a free Parishioner Pass which allows them entry through Tom Gate.

The Parishioner Pass lets you enter the Cathedral to pray and look around the building. If you would like to visit the College or the Great Hall you will need to buy a ticket. Adults need a pass each. Under 18s will be admitted if they are accompanying a passholder.

Blue and Green Badge Guides
