As the library graduate trainee at Christ Church I assist with a variety of day-to-day aspects of an academic library. Primarily, I work at the inquiry desk and help readers and visitors with using the library and its facilities, but no one day is the same! Different tasks can include creating book displays, book processing and identifying areas of the Christ Church collection that we can update.
As part of the trainee scheme, I also attend sessions run by the Bodleian on various aspects of librarianship. Through personal projects, conversations with fellow library staff and visits to libraries across Oxford and beyond, I hope to learn as much as I can about working in an academic library.
Prior to this role I completed a BA in English Language and Literature at Brasenose College. Since graduating I have spent time working in a producing house and a photography gallery.
