There is no charge for children under 5 years but a ticket must be booked online to ensure we do not exceed our capacity.

Children must be accompanied by an adult (18+).

Carer Ticket

The necessary companion, or carer, of a disabled visitor may book a free carer ticket online. The normal admission fee applies to the disabled visitor.

Groups

Our priority remains protecting the health and safety of our visitors and all members of the Christ Church community. We continue to have a number of safety measures in place for visiting Christ Church and are pleased to be able to welcome back a small number of groups on a trial basis. If you would like to book more than 11 tickets for a visit please read our 'Groups' section on the website for full details and information on how to submit a booking request.

Christ Church Alumni

At this time, Christ Church alumni are kindly asked to contact the Development Office for details on how to arrange their visit back to the House.

University of Oxford Alumni Card Holders

Free entry for Oxford University Alumni card holders and two guests per day during visitor opening hours. Please show your Oxford University Alumni card to the Custodian at the gate during visitor opening times in order to visit. You are not required to book a ticket for yourself or your two guests. A multimedia guide ticket will need to be purchased for any additional guests. 

University of Oxford Card Holders

Free entry for Oxford University card holders (navy blue strip) and two guests per day during visitor opening hours. Please show your Oxford University card to the Custodian at the gate during visitor opening times in order to visit. You are not required to book a ticket for yourself or your two guests. A multimedia guide ticket will need to be purchased for any additional guests.

Oxford Residents (OX1-4)

We will shortly be launching a card for local residents and are in the process of finalising the details and application process. Updates will be published here. In the meantime, please contact us on tourism@chch.ox.ac.uk if you would like to arrange a visit. Please note that free entry is for permanent residents of OX1-4 only, and all visits must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance. If you would like to be notified when we release our card, please contact us via email. 

When visiting, residents will be required to bring a digital or physical copy of their council tax bill as proof of residence, as well as a form of photo ID (either a passport or driving licence).
 

Parishioner Pass

Member of the Church of England who live in the Diocese of Oxford (Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes) are welcome to come to their Cathedral to pray whenever they wish. Parishioners may apply for a free Parishioner Pass which allows them entry through Tom Gate.

The Parishioner Pass lets you enter the Cathedral to pray and look around the building. If you would like to visit the College or the Great Hall you will need to buy a ticket. Adults need a pass each. Under 18s will be admitted if they are accompanying a passholder.

Blue and Green Badge Guides

At this stage we have had to suspend free entry for Blue and Green Badge guides while we carefully manage the number of people on site. Please note that guiding is also not permitted at present.
