Stipendiary Lecturership in Early Modern History
Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Early Modern History.
This is a part-time temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.
The successful candidate will deliver six hours of tutorial teaching per week, averages over the three eight-week terms of each academic year. Applicants should be able to teach tutorials for the following papers: History of the British Isles IV: Reformations and Revolutions, 1500-1700 for Prelims and for Finals; European and World History III: 1400-1650 (Renaissance, Recovery, and Reform), for Prelims; and Early Modern Europe (1500-1700) for Finals. They may also teach for Optional and Further Subject papers as appropriate, depending on their research specialism.
Applicants will also be expected to share in the teaching of Historiography for Prelims (teaching tutorials on Machiavelli) and Disciplines of History for second and third year students.
