Arriving for your Visit
- Please ensure enough time has been given for the group to travel here for their visit. If they arrive outside their allocated arrival timeslot, we cannot guarantee entry, especially during busy times or when fully booked. It can take c.30-40 minutes to walk a group from the City Council’s designated coach drop off points, to Christ Church Meadow where our Visitor Centre and entrance are located.
- Groups must arrive at the Visitor Centre at the time/s detailed on the e-ticket and booking confirmation. The group leader should come to the welcome desk inside the Visitor Centre to advise of the group's arrival. The groups should remain outside during this time. The staff on duty will advise where the group should check-in.
- For ease of entry the group should bring the e-ticket or booking reference number with them. Our team will supply a multimedia guide to each person in your group. The e-ticket and booking reference will have been sent to the email provided on your booking request form. Please ensure that the e-ticket is emailed to the group leader ahead of their arrival at Christ Church.
Visiting with Children (under 18 yrs)
- In line with our safeguarding policy there must be one adult for every 10 children visiting Christ Church. The supervising adult/s (18yrs+ in 2024 or 21yrs+ from 1 Jan 2025 ) should remain with the children throughout the visit. Children should not be left alone at any time whilst in the Visitor Centre, College, Cathedral or Meadow. Failure to follow this ratio and policy will unfortunately mean the group will not be permitted entry into the College but the charge will still apply.
- Anyone that is supervising children must be able to provide proof of age if requested (passport or photo ID card showing date of birth).
Cancellations
You can cancel your booking up to 2 days prior to your visit free of charge. Any requests to amend the date, time or number of tickets must be received in writing from the company or person that made the booking. We will only be able to alter the date, time or numbers if we have the availability. We are not able to accept booking alterations over the phone. The first amendment will be free of charge. A charge of £10:00 will be made per subsequent amendment.
Payments
Your company will be charged via invoice after the visit as per the numbers booked and detailed on your e-ticket. Queries regarding any invoices must be put in writing and emailed to groups@chch.ox.ac.uk within 10 days of the date it was sent to the email provided by you, otherwise all charges will stand.
Guiding on site
Guiding in the College and Cathedral is not permitted. The guide/group leader is very welcome to accompany the group into Christ Church, but they must not guide and need to be included in the total number of people booked. This includes Blue and Green Badge Guides. The standard ticket price applies to their tickets. Christ Church accredited guides may accompany their group on site free of charge but are not permitted to guide a group that is undertaking a multimedia visit.
Luggage and Bags
Christ Church does not have any left luggage facilities. Suitcases and luggage, and bags larger than 40cm x 30cm x 20cm (H x W x D) may not be brought on site. Please do not bring these items with you as unfortunately you will not be permitted to enter with them. Random bag checks are in operation.
